With their convincing 56-30 win over the Kentucky Crunch and losses by South Bend and Casper, the Arizona Hellcats have opened a two game lead in the Central Division as we've reached the midway point of the 2005 season. Arizona got 27 points from RB Shaun Alexander for the second time this season while RB Lamont Jordan added 12 points of his own.

Despite 19 points from RB LaDanian Tomlinson, South Bend fell to the now 5-1 Novato Firesouls who got 14 points from WR Santana Moss. The loss is the Quaismodos' third straight after starting 3-0. Casper lost a hard fought battle to Iowa, 41-38, with RB Chris Brown providing the biggest spark for the Corn Snakes who have now won two in a row after starting 0-4.

Rhode Island took sole possession of first in the Eastern Division with a 28-19 win over Portland after getting nine points from PK Mike Vanderjagt on Monday night. The New York Knights kept pace at one game back with their third straight win, a 50-21 victory over North Carolina, after starting the season at 0-3. RB Edgerrin James tallied 21 points for New York.

With Novato running their record to 5-1, good for first place in the Pacific Division, Washington kept pace by improving to 4-2 with their 37-17 victory over Minneapolis. Las Vegas snapped a three-game losing streak with a 38-22 win over division rival San Diego thanks to 14 points from RB Priest Holmes.
