The San Diego Storm would like to congratulate the Florida Flamingos on a fantastic season. Apparently half of the Storm's lineup was hungover from all of the parties leading up to the title game and failed to show up. Storm management is now banging their heads on their desks and shoving dull pencils in their eyes as they send this message out. There is always next year!

There are plenty of burning questions. Will San Diego continue their 4-1 start? How about Kentucky? Will the Central Division winner finish with a winning record? Will Drew Brees throw another TD pass this season?

Madden Curse?

Apparently, the stats don't lie. Nine of the previous 12 players that have graced the cover of the Madden football title from EA Sports have either been injured or have seen their production drop dramatically the following year. Pittsburgh's Troy Polamalu suffered the effects in the opener, spraining the MCL in his left knee. Now we await the outcome for the other half of the first cover to feature two players, with WR Larry Fitzgerald hoping to avoid a similar fate.

Remember that Packers QB that wore number 4 in Green Bay? Well, he's back, but this time he's wearing Vikings purple. That means someone in Minnesota is the odd man out, although if he's healthy enough to play Favre should make the receivers look better. Now the question is... will the Quasimodos draft him?

I can see it now... McNabb goes down midseason, Vick steps in and everytime Vicks makes a good play the Philly fans chant "woof, woof, woof!" Ron Mexico is back, at least for now, but those Philly fans are a grumpy bunch and as soon as he gives them something to growl at, they'll bite him in the butt.

Is Vick worth picking?

Now that Michael Vick has found a home in Philly is he worth taking in the draft? My answer: No. He's at best the 2nd option behind McNabb and he can't play for at least the first six weeks. At best, he might be worth a late round flyer, but with the roster limits I don't think he has enough upside to make that worthwhile.

I don't know about you, but this off season has been dreadful. With the loss of the AFL, and the Penguins winning the Stanley Cup I am in need of some man sport. Bring on the season!
